I’ve been a huge fan of Flora Grubb‘s for years! It’s a unique space that keeps growing & morphing into a more and more interesting secret garden out in Bayview-Hunters Point. I love that I got the chance to work with them on a recent SF wedding. I worked with the talented florist Susie &  photographed a beautiful wedding invite suite inspired by florals there. These are strictly the Flora Grubb photos. See the invites here.

Mt. Tam Engagement

These two…are the cutest couple! Lia & Rainier are such sweet people. It was a gorgeous day in Mt. Tam and overall a beautiful trip.  The rolling green hills were covered in poppies, totally Sound of Music esque. I wanted to picnic, drink wine & eat cheese forever. We did a little of everything from hiking, cooking, eating, watched the sunset, drank hot totties by the fire, and slept next to the ocean.  I can’t wait to go back.

Camping gear: Alite (Thank you Tae!)
Videographer: Charly Nelson
Caramel Apple Skillet Galette Recipe (Tip: Use only half the sugar)
Location: Mt. Tam + Steep Ravine

My love for pie began with the t.v show Twin Peaks. I’ve dreamed about living, or at least experiencing what it’s like to live in a small town in the woods. Drive a truck with a dog that rides to town with me, and live in a cabin.  And there’s something sexy about a man who loves pie, in this case Cherry pie with black coffee. It’s on my travel list to go to the diner in North Bend WA, and order cherry pie with black coffee like Agent Dale Cooper.

The end of the year is a busy time, I miss cooking. There was a sale on Black berries, so I made my  favorite fruit pie. I used this recipe by chef Marilyn Batali from Food & Wine magazine. It turned out great, not too sweet.

This is a baby shower I photographed in the crafty Oakland home of Catherine Weis of Local Social. It was such a fun shoot for me & it got published on 100 Layer Cakelet!  Catherine and Terry hosted the party and made all the decor themselves for their friend Amelia. It turned out great & I so wanted to hang out with all the creative gals! I’m inspired to put more effort into my next house party.

•The Welcome garland was made by Terry, using this tutorial from Catherine’s site.

•Olive ice cubes for the bloody mary bar & beautiful flower ice cubes.

•Beautiful tarts came from La Farine, and flowers from the Oakland flower market.

•Catherine made her own seed bomb bags, dip-dyed pink fabrics & invitations.

I’m in love with this dining room wall, so vintage & Anthropologie. It reminds me of the last house I worked on where I removed 3 layers of wall paper underneath many layers of paint. Each layer brought me back to the 70′s, 60′s then 50′s.  I can’t wait to start refurbishing my Oakland house!

You don’t see much of Catherine’s painted floors here. It’s really neat, check it out here, featured on Design Sponge.
